Time to Bath and Change the Twins

Bath time with twins can be daunting at first but does get easier with practice.

Remembering back to the birth of our first baby...she had her first bath on day two.  I was so exhausted still and so daddy stepped in to get the bathing lesson from the nurse.  She guided him step by step on how to bathe the baby from  head to toe, being mindful of sensitive areas such as cleaning the belly button and head soft spot.

Bathing twins doesn't necessarily mean twice the stuff, just means you have to do it twice.

Here are somethings to have on hand to get started at home:

  • Newborn tub or large flat basin that fits in the sink (be sure to always support the head)
  • Bath tent can come in handy to lay the baby upright while washing
  • 8 Washcloths
  • 20 burp clothes (cloth diapers work great)
  • Mild/Sensitive Soaps & Lotions (may not want to start using until a week later)
  • 4 towels (hooded or not)

  • Dressing your newborns can seem complicated but check out this resource that has lots of helpful tips and a video demo.
